WHY BECOME AN INSTRUCTOR?
The most cost effective way of bringing Minding the Badge™ training to your department is by certifying one or more of your staff as Minding the Badge™ instructors, thereby allowing them to bring the benefit of this program to your entire department on your own timeline and without the expense of having each person trained by us.
Minding the Badge™ instructor certification courses provide the training and license to teach our curriculum, while utilizing nearly 2GB of teaching resources provided by us. These resources include, but are not limited to:
WHAT COURSES ARE OFFERED FOR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION?
Currently for the 2024 year, Minding the Badge™ offers the following courses for Instructor Certification:
CORE PREEMPTIVE RESILIENCY
SUICIDE OUTREACH: RESILIENCY, INTERVENTION, AND RECOVERY
PEER SUPPORT: BASIC AND ADVANCED TRAINING
WHAT ARE THE CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS?
Instructor Certification is currently offered only to those sponsored by a public safety agency, unless otherwise approved. Non-profit entities receive a discount. Our certification equips instructors to teach various levels of students besides just first responders. These may include civilian personnel working in public safety, therapists and social workers, non-profit staff, high school students, training cadets, military, or spouses/family members of first responders.
Certification courses take place in Fort Worth, Texas over a period of 1-3 days. We offer travel and lodging arrangements that consider cost, quality, location, and safety.
CAN YOU RECEIVE TRAINING CREDITS?
Although we do not sponsor training credits towards your certification, we do provide the supplemental requirements if your department sponsors your credits. Please let us know you will be needing this prior to your training; there is no additional charge for this service.
HOW DO YOU APPLY FOR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION TRAINING?
The first step in becoming certified is to fill out a request and we will contact you about details and available dates for private department or group training.
